The Head of Global Product Marketing is responsible for leading the development and implementation of TransEnterix' global marketing efforts related to product marketing, marketing communications, and field marketing. This role will be responsible for both upstream and downstream activities for the Senhance Multiport Robotic Platform across multiple specialties (general surgery, gynecology, urology and thoracic surgery). This role is also responsible for brand development, advertising, media, public relations and the creation and delivery of company messaging strategies. This position also leads high-level collaboration with all key functions and regions involved in the New Product Launch Process


  • Drives the creation and implementation of TransEnterix global marketing strategy to increase market share and enhance profitability
  • Provides strategic and operational direction in the development and execution of world-class Marketing Programs including product & market analysis, modeling, and pricing.
  • Collaborates with the Management Team to determine market growth opportunities and to develop and execute market growth strategies.
  • Interacts with Physicians, Clinicians, the TransEnterix Sales Team, R&D and Manufacturing regarding the performance of existing products and the development of new products and/or product enhancements.
  • Maintains knowledge of Key Customers, the Market, Industry Trends, Competitors, and leading Competitive Strategies.
  • Develops, cultivates and maintains relationships with Key Customers, Key Opinion Leaders and Strategic Partners as a means to obtain and provide technical, professional and managerial support for TransEnterix products.
  • Responds to customer needs by working with R&D and the global sales and marketing teams to identify and develop new product opportunities and bring them to commercialization.
  • Participates with R&D's in the design review process.
  • Develops, implements and monitors advertising, media campaigns and promotional activities.
  • Participates as a member of Management Team and represents the Marketing Organization in interactions with the company Board of Directors
  • Maintains consistent, ongoing communication with the leadership team on the latest economic/market trends and competitive updates
  • Coordinates the specific objectives of the marketing plan with TransEnterix functional departments including supply chain, operations, finance, and sales.
  • Mentors and develops marketing teams through sharing and coaching best practices in general product management fundamentals
  • Participates in all talent development processes for the Marketing Organization
  • Sets expectations regarding performance and desired behaviors for the Marketing Organization.
  • All Other Essential Duties as directed


  • Bachelor Degree in business, marketing, engineering or in a related field
  • An advanced degree in business or marketing preferred
  • A minimum of 12 years of marketing experience.
  • Experience in medical device industry with specific focus in surgery required
  • Experience in Laparoscopic surgery strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated marketing capabilities in progressively responsible management positions
  • Have a global business perspective as well as a strong and established product marketing background in the medical device industry.
  • Demonstrated success working in a small - mid-size fast-paced organization
  • Excellent people and communication skills, ability to operate and influence in a diverse and complex environment, and ability to build sustainable social relationships within the organization and with customers
  • Prior experience working globally and or outside the USA required
